Time to move the hell along.
I realized, after watching a commercial for "Twilight," that I really don't understand the youths of today. Their music (emo), their movies (vampires), their idols (lohan, duff, hilton, spears), and so here, in no specific order, is a list of things that make me feel ninety years old.
1. "Twilight." Please don't hate me for this. I really just don't get it. "Harry Potter" I got. This is lining up to be the biggest book-to-movie franchise ever so I am trying to figure out why. It's pretty much the fantasy of wrist-cutting, "goth" thirteen year olds everywhere. Points for Cam Gidgan-I-don't-know being in it, because I've loved him ever since his Kevin Volchik days murdering Marissa on "the OC". MINUS points for the fact that everyone in it could use a few days in the OC, as they are lacking tans... and smiles! By the way, he looks way better (seen here in OC days) with short hair.
2. Emo music. Ok, I've had a problem with this ever since it became popular (which, thankfully, was a year after I was out of high school). Seriously, go to iTunes, make an emo playlist of all your faves (Hawthorne Heights, My Chem, Panic! At the Disco, Fallout Boy, The Academy Is, Saves the Day, All American Rejects, etc.) NEWSFLASH: It. Sounds. The. Same.
1 whiney front singer + band + semi-intelligent words strung together to make nonsensical lyrics + black eyeliner = EMO.
4. Tokio Hotel. This had to be its own category outside of emo. What. The. Fuck.
5. What do you kids actually watch on TV these days? The CW network doesn't have the viewers... I know you aren't sitting down to watch Law & Order or CSI with your grandparents. Probably because you all are on the computers playing your RPGs.
6. RPGs (Role Playing Games). This is why you are all so pale. Go outside! Gears of War and World of Warcraft will be there when you get back.
Ok, hope that was a little lighter. :)

Sorry. My younger brother is an emo dork. I was riding him the other day about his music and i told him "There isn't one band that you like that plays a song with more than 3 chords. I bet "Gitaur Hero Emo Edition" could be played with one hand."
YES! well, i usually tell people that before they go thinking its so meaningful and dark to set it to country music. every emo song can be manipulated into a country song. it's true. have garth brooks sing it really slow and sad.
I wish my lawn was emo... so it would cut itself. ~ Anon.
:)
First of all: xD (thanks for the first laugh of the day!)
Then, I agree with you on all the points... specially the last part of one (that pic makes me miss the 'old days'... did I just sound 70? LOL).
But... yeah, it is true that you're sure you're a 'grown up' when you read this kind of post and luagh (your head out!) - KIDS plaese learn something! Thanks.
